Ruth Irene Ackley Dysart

Ruth, the youngest child of Alfred Denton Ackley and Mary Lucinda Newberry, was born 17 July 1892 in Dundas, Rice, Minnesota.

Sometime between 1900 and 1903, the family moved from Minnesota to Walla Walla, Walla Walla county, Washington.

On 11 October 1903, when Ruth was eleven years old, her mother Lucinda died suddenly. Father Denton married a widow, Mrs. Sarah Cannon, on 22 June 1904 in Walla Walla. Sarah was Ruth's stepmother until Sarah died in 1923.

Ruth married Carl Bacon Dysart on 4 May 1911 in College Place, Walla Walla, Washington. They settled in College Place.

Ruth and Carl had six children: Irene, Genevieve, Denton, Carl, Jr. and two living.

Carl died on 14 January 1955 in Walla Walla, and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla.

Ruth lived the rest of her life visiting with her children and grandchildren. After Carl died, she welcomed another grandchild and ten great-grandchildren into her family before she died.


Ruth passed away 29 August 1975 in Walla Walla. She was buried next to Carl in Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla.
